Round 4 - Tokyo Circuit - #3 Z33

AHHHHHHHH! Make it stop! Well, thank God we're done with that. The GT2 at Road America is the most unforgiving combination I've seen in the Forza Time Trials, and we've been through most of them now. There was little room for error, but if you had the patience to work through it though, some top times were still possible. Congratulations to Willspin for an outstanding time. Though offline, it would have scored 4th on the Global scoreboard online, and that's no small feat!

Fortunately, as I said, we're done with that mess. And up next is one of the most enjoyable combinations in the Forza Time Trials, at least it's been strongly endorsed by Two Red Eyed. It's effectively the opposite of the previous round. Tokyo throws you back and forth, and keeps you reaching around the corners. The car sports the biggest spoiler I've ever seen, so that's fun too. Competition ends Thursday night, 12 midnight PST, as always. Have fun!



Round 3 - Road America - Porsche 911 GT2

So, what are people saying about the Mine's R34 at Blue Mountains Raceway? How about “Remind me never to purchase a Mine's product”, “WHY WON'T YOU TURN WHEN I ASK YOU TO?!” and “I don't like it at all.” Yup, that combo was a smurfette. Understeer, check. Crazy course, check. But we pulled through an actually managed some pretty impressive times. We had 4 top 10 finishers, and 9 in the top 100. Rankings shifted throughout the week all across the scoreboard, so all in all, it was a pretty good competition. Congratulations to Helmakr for pulling of the victory with an impressive 2:01.358 at the 11th hour to take it. Now, let’s never speak of it again.

Now the good news, we’re moving onto Road America. The bad news is that we’re in the GT2. But for me that’s just an excuse. It doesn’t seem to matter what car I’m in on this track, I just can’t seem to brake early enough for turn 5, that turn is made out of evil. But your mileage may vary, I’ve given up on predicting how these things will go. But Road America was the overwhelming favorite, so off we go.

Only two weeks remain in this Forza so vote wisely for the next round. Competition for this round ends in one week, Thursday at midnight PST, Oct 27th. Go race now!

Round 2 - Blue Mountains Raceway I - Mine's R34

After a week of stripping those NSX tires bald sliding through turn 8, it's finally time to move onto something new. Congrats on so many great times, we had 9 top 100 finishes out of 15 racers. I thought it was going to be much easier than it was... I was wrong.

So to try and correct that I just set out to do a lap of our next challenge so that I accurately knew what I'd be describing. Well, two turns, two walls, two crashes. Blue Mountain Raceway is 3.10 miles of pristine "ARG!". This track twists, dips, turns and undulates just the way you don't want it to. Need to make a hard right? Sorry it drops to the left. Most of us a intimately familiar with this track from FCC2 when we drove it the opposite direction with a Viper GTS. So we all know what's around each turn, but have a re-learn how to deal with it. I can't say I'm fond of the car either, breaking seems to be an afterthought. But who knows, once the Viper GTS challenge drew close to conclusion, it started to come together and become fun... maybe, just maybe, this will work that way too.

Round 1 - Maple Valley Raceway - #16 JGTC NSX

Back once again by popular demand, the Forza FCC returns for a third round. It's been a couple months since we wrapped thing up in Rio, and I expect things may have changed since then. Some of us have probably gottena little rusty, others have gone on to be recognized as top racers. Time will tell if the old rivalries hold up, or where if new ones will form. But without further adieu, let's move on to Maple Valley Raceway.

The track is, well, not so challenging. The car, fairly forgiving. You'd think this would mean we'd all come through with the same time, but as history has shown, it's unlikely to be the case. Top times currently come in at around 1:21, with the top time among FCC participant held by Helmakr in 24th place overall. You know the rules, post your times here during the week and up until the day after the deadline. What's the deadline, well, I'll put the final scoreboard together when my clock hits midnight in one week (Thursday night, PST). Post your vote for the next round as well. I'd like to play through the remaining full length tracks in this FCC, making it 5 rounds long so I encourage limiting the voting to Blue Mountain Raceway, New Your Circuit, Road America, and Tokyo Circuit.
